Air Purifier: Sharp Plasmacluster

Comments 10 Standard

Lowe was born with a regular morning episode of sneezing. I was confused at first, then William informed me that, he too, sneezes a lot due to his allergic rhinitis. It gets triggered by a whole lot of random things, but mostly, dust.

I then realized that it must’ve been passed to Lowe and a house with a cat inside can also contribute to this, my husband suggested to eject my cat, haha!.

Ejecting my house cat is not an option, having a dust-free environment is quite difficult to achieve too, therefore, the next best thing is to have an air purifier. Not just any air purifier, for a house with pets, the one with HEPA (A HEPA filter is a type of mechanical air filter; it works by forcing air through a fine mesh that traps harmful particles such as pollen, pet dander, dust mites, and tobacco smoke) for cat danders.

The one we chose to buy is Sharp Plasmacluster with Mosquito Catcher from Anson’s Alabang Town Center. It retails for Php 14,000+ (USD 265+) but if you pay in cash, there’s a discount. We bought it for approximately Php 12,000+ (USD 227+). I liked the fact that it has mosquito catcher and hopefully it caught a lot by now.

Ever since we started using this air purifier, my husband does not sneeze at all and the same goes with Lowe. It was quite an expensive alternative to medication but if it will give Lowe his peace from sneeze, it was worth it.

I’ve used this also to remove certain smells from the house, one time we had our pantry painted, the entire house smelled like paint and it was making me high. Haha! I placed this just outside the pantry and turned on the haze feature and it sucked all the smell!

As for the care and maintenance, the mosquito glue sheet can be replaced when there’s a lot of mosquitoes caught, (ideally every 3 months). The HEPA filter can be changed after 2 years and the pre-filter when be vacuumed and washed.

If ever you have or someone you love, suffering from allergic rhinitis, this might be the answer. Quite an expensive answer but useful, nonetheless.

  1. As someone living in a zoo…I mean house with two large dogs and a rabbit the size of a house at, this would be so helpful! I can’t tell you how big of a difference air quality makes!

  2. Thank you for this. I’m also suffering from allergic rhinitis. I’d definitely look into that air purifier. Even tho it’s quite expensive. Haha

  3. The KC-C100U Plasmacluster air purifier is suitable for room of up to 254 square feet. Its CADR is 164 for dust, 164 for smoke and 174 for pollen. Its humidifying function can run for up to 10 hours and has a capacity of 7.7 pints. This is a quiet, Plasmacluster purifier that has a true HEPA filter and a carbon filter.

  4. This is just the thing we need. My husband is still recuperating from a previous hospitalization and I am being very careful his lungs stay clear. Allergens can cause congestion which may prompt another emergency room scenario for him. I will get this air purifier. It is expensive, but come to think of it, it is cheaper than a hospital stay.

  5. I need this in my life! I experience allergic rhinitis every time I try to clean. I always end up paying a house keeper to clean my stuff. I guess this is a good investment.

  6. We have contemplated getting one for cleaning the air in the bedroom. After a lot of research we decided to get some air purifying plants instead. They work great!
